|Habitat Gardening for Birds, Bees, and Wildlife
Habitat gardening for birds, bees, and wildlife will be the subject of a lecture by Randi Eckel, Ph.D., of Toadshade Wildflower Farm (www.toadshade.com) on Sunday afternoon, July 9th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum (www.holcombe-jimison.org) on Rt. 29 north of Lambertville, NJ. Tours of the Farmstead Museum will be given at 1 p.m. Dr. Eckel's presentation will follow. In addition to their loveliness, plants provide food, shelter, habitat, and homes for insects and animals. This is especially true of native plants which have developed close relationships with our native wild life. Dr. Eckel will show us beautiful and easy ways to enhance our gardens using New Jersey native plants. This illuminating and educational tour and talk is presented by the Delaware Valley Unit (www.delvalherbs.org) of The Herb Society of America. Refreshments will be served. The cost is $15.00 for non-members. Native plants from Toadshade will be available of purchase. Questions? Email Donna at email@example.com.
